My name is Florian, I’m from Romania and recently, I’ve decided to go all-in on this new bright, libertarian future that is the blockchain. I’m a freelancer writer and just one week ago, I finished my first ever project about Bitcoin and the Blockchain. It was definitely enlightening to do and in-depth research about this amazing market and it DID reassure me that I’m on the right path.
A path started 3 years ago when I invested around $1,000 at that time in a GPU mining rig. A rig that looked like this:
One crappy motherboard with an average CPU and 2GB of RAM, two state-of-the-art (at that time at least) Seasonic power supplies (one I’m still using to power my current desktop) – 620W and 750W – and three ready-to-mine AMD Radeon R9 280X GPUs. My initial intention was to use the rig for protein folding actually and earn some CureCoins. However, my plans quickly shifted as the friend who sold me the rig told me about this innovative anonymous coin called Monero. The whole mining business however lasted only several months following Bitcoins steep plunge to around $300 (didn’t know better at that time).
Yet that didn’t impede me to further research the monero market. And as I was looking at that chart, I noticed an interesting pattern:
Back then I had some price chart reading knowledge – I’ve attended several seminaries about FOREX during uni – so in January 2016 I’ve invested some odd $300 and bought 1 BTC and converted it into XMR. Three months later, I closed my position and cashed in a whooping 200% profit. However, as the XMR price went crushing down afterwards, I hesitated and didn’t bought the second time around, missing the big price jump in July/August of 2016.
The XMR major upward movement made me reconsider my options and in autumn of 2016, my true path toward endorsing the blockchain began. Which brings us to this day and my first blog on Steemit, 100% dedicated to the new blockchain order.
I DO believe the Internet was just a first step that brought us all together and created a truly global market. The blockchain technology is the second step capable of transforming this current totalitarian status quo ever-present in the global online market into a truly democratic and libertarian environment. That is why I began to take courses in programming and cryptography and dedicate my time to also learning the technical side of the blockchain.
Rejoice ‘cause blockchain is comin’
Cheers!
