I understand that everyone likes to have a whale to upvote our post which makes it at least a hundred easily. It will be so cool!
Recently I have doing a bit of investigation like most newbies about how posts got pumped up to hundred SBD and over. It is true that many had at least one whale to upvote their posts while others may have bought upvotes.
After investigating further about the whales that gave the upvotes, I notice that many steemit members sent $0.001 SBD to them requesting for them to visit their posts under memo. Perhaps this is good if the whales welcome it but most of these posts did not receive any upvotes from the whales.
Imagine that one day you are a whale yourself and you receive daily hundreds of thousand of requests to visit their posts and you have a limited voting power daily even if you have huge steem power. Would it be a frustration to you?
I notice lots of advertisement like they can design their site and even scammer indicating that their accounts were stolen or going to be blocked.
Is this the conducive culture that we would like to have in steemit as a healthy community? I believe that the answer is no. We want the whales to continue to have a great experience in steemit and upvote those they feel deserving without being disturbed. Whales are not robots and they are not dumb so keep our dignity and write good post.
Write a post that compels others greatly to give you an upvote or write a core message that they feel strongly about and give you an upvote.
Don't disturb them even everyone likes to link up with them. Do it using the right channels like upvoting their posts and write the good comments. Investigate how to write a post that everyone is impressed!
Let's have a healthy culture in this steemit community with no vulgarity of remarks to guide newbies like us. Be polite at all times.
Do not intrude into the private space of the whales without invitation. I do not blame the whales for not responding when so many members are sending them $0.001 SBD to get noticed. They are not beggars so have dignity.
I am just stating my thoughts as a new member in steemit since steemit is a blog that allows us to freely write our thoughts as long as we are not scolding or being rude to other members.
Let's build a strong steemit community together and make lots of friends to support one another in our steemit learning journey!
