“Peace is a daily, a weekly, a monthly process, gradually changing opinions, slowly eroding old barriers, quietly building new structures. And however undramatic the pursuit of peace, that pursuit must go on."
― John F. Kennedy
The bad thing about lurking is that if you do it too long, it becomes difficult to launch yourself into the conversation.
I chose today, this International Day of Peace, to introduce myself mostly because I have been known to tell people that I wished I did not hail from a country known for waging war on the rest of the world. I would much rather be from a country known for its very fine textiles or its beautiful produce. That usually gets a little smile that may or may not actually be a grimace.
More about me:
- I have always been a nature girl. I like animals, I love to grow things and I have always wanted to live in the country;
- I was a music student for many years and am fascinated by all sorts of waves;
- I love history and have done some genealogy research. Among many other things, I have worked in a number of libraries which I now realize does not really suit me and probably never did;
- I used to write daily but have not for many years;
- I am from Texas.
There is a photo I took before the election last fall but I can't get it to imbed.
There is a little bit of a story there…but we all pretty much know it already.
