Hi. My name is Kevin and I'm one of the three members of a trans-genre internet band called Ghost Kollective. We've been producing music for over 10 years together now on an ad-hoc, part time basis. We each have day jobs but use most of our hobby time sharing and making the kinds of music we love. Our latest project is actually a little Cyberpunk'ish, Cybernoir, hence the title.
Time for a little backstory.
The three of us in Ghost Kollective met through a website called ccMixter. The ccMixter website allows anyone to contribute their music or voice, remix other people's contributions and take part in a community for a Creative Commons goal. For those of you who've never heard of Creative Commons, it's a set of licenses which sit on top of copyright and are designed to allow creators to free up certain rights. The right to freely share, the right to remix, use for commercial projects etc.

ccMixter started out as a project to allow established musicians to contribute their "stems" for remix. Stems are the component parts of a song, individual sound recordings which are layered atop one and other, drums, guitars, keyboards, vocals etc. Stems are the component parts a producer needs to make a mix or remix. Some quite famous people have contributed to ccMixter over the years - Beastie Boys, Fort Minor, DJ Vadim and more, plus many excellent community artists and projects.

As GhostK, the three of us really hit of off when I added a vocal part to a remix the other two guys had already uploaded to ccMixter. The title drew me in, "State of Everyday Madness". I wrote the song, sung the song and submitted it as a remix. Soon after we decided to try producing music as a group, both inside and outside of the realm of ccMixter.

You might be wondering Tacet/CDK/_Ghost, what's with all these funny names? As with most of these websites when you sign up you are given the opportunity to select a nick name or handle, and I chose "tacet" as my name. CDK and _Ghost chose theirs and we have since kept using them to maintain a degree of anonymity. We're like DaftPunk without the helmets :) We live in three different parts of the world, so dealing with timezones is quite a thing - UK, Poland and Canada.
Our music has been featured in epic creations like this :

Used in swanky turorial videos like this :
In cool games like this :
And sometimes gets uploaded with just a still-image like this :
We're on youtube, sometimes facebook and twitter but now, most importantly, we're on SteemIt :D
Due to my own default levels of nerdery, I'm interested in crypto currencies and have been doing my best to explain to the other guys how platforms like SteemIt provide micro-reward for sharing. It's an exciting idea, much like Creative Commons back in 2001 when the first licenses were issued.
Sharing our music here seems like an obvious starting point, but I wonder if anyone in the community would find our music construction and the process we go through interesting? I'll likely write a few short articles and notes and see how we go. I'm guessing there's other lowkey musicians on here. Follow us, we'll read your story and follow you back :) Does anyone collaborate on SteemIt? Musicians? Singers? Producers?
Anyhow, I'm looking forward to getting to know you all better and continuing to up-vote your stories. With an account value of $0.56, we're damn sure gonna use it....all of it! lol :D
