Hi my name is Gift Akpan a native of Uyo in Akwa Ibom State,Southern Nigeria.
I am the first child in a family of five (5) children.

Growing up started as fun until I lost my dad when I was 13 and still in the High School. Life became so difficult and I was exposed to so many ills. I did cry much tears, yet, am glad because, the tears are no more today.

I felt life was over, but just then, God appeared and drew me close to Himself. He restored my joy, hope, peace, hapiness and brought people I never bargained for to help me get to where He (God) wants me to be.

My mum has been our strength and defense. With her meager earnings, she desires the best for me and my sibling and took it upon herself to sponsor us to stardom academically, though she may have just one cloth. She deals on fried foods such as Akara, fried yam, potatoes and plantain. Only Nigerian stemians can relate with these.

My Dream for My World

I'm interested in saving human lives, music and reading. Becoming a doctor first came into my mind at the age of seven when I saw a young Lady neatly dressed and on a white coverall while in the hospital. I asked my dad who she was and my dad told me she was a medical doctor and I said wow!!! I asked dad again if girls were actually medical doctors and he said yes so I told him I want to become a medical doctor. Since that day to become a medical doctor has always been my dreams and ambitions I had to put in more effort on the subjects I was told to improve on to achieve my goals and I saw myself excelling in them.

Since dad died I almost lost the dream of becoming a medical doctor this time due to the high financial demand. Mum has always been encouraging me and today am almost completing my training as a Medical Laboratory Scientist. My Hope of being a medical practitioner is heightened even more with steemit, because I know you care.

My favourite colour is pink while my favourite food is beans and plantain. I love singing when happy or sad, I love watching Nigerian movies just to catch fun, my favourite actress is Mercy Johnson. I love listening to Gospel music that encourages me when I'm either down or when I feel discouraged. I have always been good at debating. I read fantasy books and magazines.

I love keeping friends but not with those that won't add value to my life. I hate proud people so such aren't for my choice of friends. I love people that are humble, lovely, beautiful, handsome and neat. I love serious-minded people, deep thinkers and intelligent fellows.

I hate pride, I hate associating with people that won't add value to my life instead try to influence me with some dubious characters they posses. I hate gossips, back bitters and people that boast. I hate been insulted and above all I hate been lied to.
