I've been interested in the idea of censorship resistant social networks ever since reddit killed /r/reddit.com
I had heard about this place in the past, but the site was so easy to use I didn't realize it was exactly the sort of system I had been envisioning myself.
All the content here is managed by a distributed blockchain, and if the operators of steemit.com ever got as bad as the admins and moderators of reddit have become it is easy for the community to exit from the control of the central operator.
I think it would behoove the steemit community to shout this from the rooftops, as if I did not catch onto this without chatting with the lead dev in Telegram I'm quite certain very few other people will pick up on it as well.
I've spent a lot of time on voat.co as well. The administration of that site is clearly a supporter of free speech to a degree that the circumstances surrounding it's growth has hampered its further growth potential.
Really excited to dive into this place and EOS as well.
Is there any media focused on the censorship resistant nature of the steem network I could share with others?
