Hiya! I’m Heidi Siefkas (pronounced Seef-kas).
Although I’m originally from small-town Wisconsin (You betcha), I currently call both South Florida and Kauai home. However, as an adventurer, I’m rarely home for very long. Thus, the mischievous hat as I believe that every travel day is a bad hair day.
I’m also author of two inspirational, non-fiction books, When All Balls Drop and With New Eyes. In fact, I just finished my first draft of my third book, Cubicle to Cuba, which follows me through my transition from the corporate world to my hybrid career of traveling and writing in Cuba and around the world.

Q&A with me:
What do you write?
H: I write what I know best whether my real life experiences like taking out the trash and being clobbered by a 1,000-pound tree limb or my nearly twenty trips to Cuba.
Why do you write?
H: I consider myself a teacher. I was a classroom teacher nearly fifteen years ago. I taught Spanish as well as English as a Second Language. However, the classroom was too confining. Now, I write to inspire people through my stories, which in essence is a classroom without walls.
What do you never leave home without?
H: My iPhone, peanuts, and a sarong. (I explain it best in the video intro.)
What’s your next adventure?
H: Editing and publishing my third book will be an adventure; plus, I’m returning to Cuba four times this fall. I’m also turning FORTY in November; so, any ideas from the viewers as to a great adventure would be appreciated!
Please comment with questions about Kauai, Cuba, my books, and/or ideas for my 40th birthday.
Here’s to looking up!
