Fred Femto Field

Fred Femto Field was once an ordinary physician working mainly in the domains of nanotechnology, microelectronics and quantic mechanics. He was spending most of the time in the lab doing insane experiments with the rest of the crew.
It is known, that they were building some sort machine able to downsizing any kind of object or being to the femto size (10-15).
One day at the lab, late afternoon, Fred was alone manipulating the machine. As the head of the crew, he decided that it was the moment to perform the first test, so he put inside the chamber the first object to send to the quantic world. What he forgot, is that there was a slight isolation problem in the gate of the chamber...
The moment Fred turned it on, an huge, white, and blinding light, flashes everything in the lab and instantly the villages nearby runned out of electricity for hours!
When the power came back, the scientists crew and the authorities went to the place and there was no lab, and no Fred...
Years have passed, until a message appeared out of nowhere at CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research). Somehow Fred was alive and he found a way to communicate from the quantic world all through the CERN's particule accelerator.
In the message , it was written that he needed a chamber near the particule accelerator and they all should be ready for an extreme power consumption in a very specific date and time.
Some years after, Fred indeed appeared in CERN... He was different, his human shape had changed and psychologically he was odd, but extremely enlightened.
Apparently, he achieved to come back because he had his lab in the quantic world. Not only he survived, but he also discovered a way to travel between worlds...
Fred Femto Field is now one of the most prestigious scientists, there's nothing in the science field that he can't talk about. He has been performing eloquent speechs all around the world ever since! And he still does his mysterious work at the lab... when the power goes down, we all already know, it is Fred! Going smaller, and smaller, and smaller...
