Huni Kuin means "real men"
from huni, "man", and kuin meaning "real."
Location
The Huni Kuin live in the middle of the Amazon rainforest, in the border regions between Brazil and Peru.
Not so long ago the Huni Kuin have been forcefully driven of their lands into slavery, yet today their culture is slowly regaining ground as the Huni Kuin are more and more recognized for their immense and invaluable knowledge of the medicinal plants of the rainforest.

The Yube Inu Institute is an indigenous non-profit organization active in the Kaxinawá Indigenous Land of the Jordan River, Acre State, Brazil.
Our mission is to take care of our people and our forest, acting as a bridge between the indigenous and the white world, in order to guarantee the cultural diversity and the social and ecological harmony of humanity.
