Last week I joined Steemit after apply a few days prior. I was super excited to learn about the site and how it works. I had no idea what I was getting myself into, or how complicated everything is. The cool part about Steemit is you do not have to understand everything about it to use it. You can simply post things and learn as you go. You can make money with it, you can promote yourself with it, you can make friends (or enemies), and you can entertain yourself non stop.
My Stats
I will shed some light on my stats for the week. After all, just about anyone can see them, which is also super cool about Steemit. To be exact yesterday, was when I had been here a week and started to collect my awards.
- I have 63 followers.
- I made $10.578 Steem Dollars that have been redeemed in the last day.
- I have about the same amount coming to me in the next week. Most of my money was made on my introductory post for sure.
- I have sold all my Steem dollars on the Steeemit Market for Steem, and used the Steem to power up.
- I bought 96.55 Steem before I joined which I transferred to Steemit and Powered up with.
- I have 140.16 Steem Power right now.
- I have made .008 Steem dollars from curation awards (my posts).
- I have been awarded 1.73 Steem Power directly from my awards.
- I have 175 posts.
- I have written 12 blog posts.
What have I learned?
I have learned that you will not magically make money without doing any work.
I have learned that great content will not make you a ton of money in the beginning.
I have learned that interaction is as important as content.
I have learned that the more time you take helping others, the more time others will take to help you.
I have learned that a few really good comments, are much more valuable than 100 meaningless comments.
I have learned a ton about Steem dollars, Steem, Steem power, and voting. I love, because I am a numbers person.
I have learned there is not a lot of content on my areas of expertise; cars and real estate.
I have been telling my friends and team all about Steem. They were all fainting interest, until I told them I was making money with it. Hardly anyone actually thinks crypto companies are active and creating something of value.
My first week has been a blast and it was super cool seeing my first awards come in. I plan to reinvest everything I make into Steem Power. I also love to share the Steem if you upvote and comment!
