Greetings to the steemit community, my name is John and I'm not exactly new here. I did an introduction post last year around this time. I gained a great number of followers during my blogging journey. The only problem is I had a leave of absence and most of my original followers have quit blogging on steemit. I've decided to do a re-introduction to find some new people to follow & check out my blog!
As I sit here writing this post I'm sitting in my boat that's parked in the yard. Watching my dog; Riley, chase his football back and forth. My neighbors probably think I look crazy but it's beautiful out and I'm enjoying the sun. My girlfriend, dog & boat are my most important things in life. They are everything that makes my life complete. If I'm out on the water fishing with them, then I have no problems!
Fishing & working out are my biggest hobbies. Up until about two years ago I was pretty overweight. Not extremely, maybe fifty pounds overweight. I found a love for exercise and haven't looked back since. Recently re-ignited my passion for excercise by getting into body building. The past few months I've been able to up my strength immensely.
As for fishing: well, I probably do it more than I should. Every time I have a day off you can find me on the lake/ocean. If you scroll through my blog check out my 'Reel Action Series', you can see all of the species of fish we catch. We only keep salt water fish, during our fresh water fishing expeditions it's all catch & release. I've been fishing since I could hold a fishing rod. It's one of the things that keeps my dad & I close. I'm sure I will do it for the rest of my life & if I have children they probably will too.
I figured I would share a picture of my dog Riley. My girlfriend and I got him through a rescue when he was just a puppy. We had been looking for a golden retriever for about a year when we came across this little guy. He was a perfect fit for us from the moment we got him home, funny we found out he wasn't a golden retriever though (he looks & acts just like one). He ended up being a mix of several dogs and is much smaller than we anticipated. We thought he would be 80 lb or so but only ended up being 50. His size is perfect for us & he makes a great hiking/fishing companion.
