Hi&Velcome to my blog.
This introductory post might be a bit late but since the account creation I have been too busy exploring the Hive world (esp the nuances of the curation), trading the crypto version of forex (intending to end up with some HIVE to power up) and playing a couple of blockchain games (I fell in love with Piggericks that is being launched as we speak - a simple game that gives a nice twist to an even simpler dice game I used to play as a kid).
Anyway, to sum up my background, I am currently a stay-at-home father to a 3yr old boy. My hometown is Prague but I moved out with my wife six years ago to pursue her career and last year we settled in Mladá Boleslav. Neither of us has anything to do with automotive though - that is a rare household characteristic in a town that has been producing cars over a century (95 years under the current Škoda trademark).
Technically, I am a mathematician - that is where my degree comes from. Practically speaking, I am a life-long cardplayer. I started as a bridge Tournament Director (fancy title for a referee) reaching international level at a young age. During a European Championship, I noticed someone playing online poker in the hallway. My conclusion was that the game must be more than dumb gambling. When I learned enough to win consistently, I gradually switched games.
Prague was a good place to be a poker player at that time so I played a good deal of live game too. In a few years, I went all the way to Las Vegas for the WSOP. I happened to be the first Czech player to cash out in the Series (well, the first "winner" to have used Czech passport for registering) but more importantly, my blog from the trip was well received in the community and that opened me various doors when the game boomed. I got to co-host a poker TV show that never broke off the past-midnight slot. I got a prominent position on a poker community website that went from the nerdy clubhouse to the two-way-draw at the top of the market. When I did not travel for the biggest European events, I got to co-host live streams that got great attendance numbers for a non-mainstream language (regularly beating some of the global-language versions).
After a decade of hard work, I retired from the game and enjoyed putting down the stress. Son is going to preschool soon so I started contemplating my next moves (teaching bridge sounds the most fun amongst the reasonable choices). Looking around I happened to find Hive (well, someone linked their abandoned account on the pre-fork platform). I have never been a Bitcoin fan (still holds true) but I think Ethereum shows the way and Hive or other innovative stuff make much more sense so I am ready to hang around and see how far they can go.
I understand Hive is not fine-tuned for niche content (my strongest game) but that is not going to stop me. I am not here for the posting rewards (anyway, noone should be). On the other hand I promise to try and formulate a few Hive related ideas while I am still loking at things with fresh eyes. That is if I find time in-between tossing those pigs.
