Hello, Steemit Community! My name is J Ernest, and I live in Central Florida with Jenna, my lovely wife of 20 years, and my three sons. I am a real-estate developer and investor, crypto trader, and active parent. I donate my time, talent, and tithe to my Church, First Baptist Church of Winter Garden, and its associated school, Foundation Academy. My life centers around Christ, my family, and my community.
Professionally, I'm guided by the idea that it profits a man nothing if he should gain the whole world but lose his soul.
Personally, I live my life knowing that all things work together for good for those who love the Lord, and are called according to His purpose.
Politically, I am libertarian, and believe that LIFE and FREEDOM are the greatest virtues. (It's not an accident that Thomas Jefferson called out the virtues of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, in that order, when he wrote the Declaration of Independence.) In society, every man and woman must be afforded the free opportunity to make his or her way in the world, and become the person that he or she is called to be.
The photo above is one of our few attempts at a selfie. It'll probably be the last, because I really don't like selfies. I don't even like the word, "selfie," because it captures the prevailing attitude of our generation: me me me.
It's not about me. Fatherhood taught me that. And I'm sorry if I'm the first to tell you this, but it's not about you either.
I'll close with a challenge. If your time was up, and you could communiate only one message to posterity in one sentence, what would it be?
