Is it just me...
...or do you also find yourself a bit reluctant to jump in and learn new things as you get older?
I’m in my early 30s, and lately I have started to become keenly aware of all the things I do not know. It’s only been in the last year or so… but in that time, I’ve let this awareness become a bit of a barrier. Instead of just taking new things on like I always have, I've simply been focusing on the things I do know. I don’t like it. I don't want to limit myself.
Crypto is one of those things that I know I don’t know nearly enough about, but I want to learn. Trying out another platform (albeit one that seems like it offers something different from others) seems daunting.
BUT... I am here to learn! (And read, and write, and share.)
So, Step 1: introduce myself.
I’m Jessica Kluthe. I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and I’m an author and a full-time writing instructor. I published my first book, Rosina, the Midwife in 2013 with a mid-sized literary press. Since then, I’ve been teaching creative writing at a local university (while working on a novel and publishing some shorter works). I’m lucky that my job fuels my creative self.
For those interested, I hope to be able to share what I know about creative writing and publishing.
I’m also other things, too: a new mom (I have a three-month old), a vegetarian (sometimes vegan), a feminist, a DIYer, an animal rescuer, and, even if I feel reluctant some of the time, a life-long learner.
And, now, I’m on to Step 2: jumping in to Steemit!
Thanks for having me! (I'm over on Twitter at http://twitter.com/jessicakluthe)
