Hi! My name is Julio. I've read several times about the introduceyourself tag, so, let's get started.
I'm a 21 years old guy who lives in Venezuela. My home city is Maracay, but because of my studies I spent most of the time in the capital, Caracas. As a venezuelan my main language is Spanish but it's been a couple of years now since I started doing most of the things in English. I don't consider myself as an expert in the language, but I believe I know enough.
I study Computer science in the Simón Bolívar university, in Caracas. Right now I'm in the 4th year out of a 5 years study program. I reaaaally love this place. I've met a lot of amazing people there and I've learned a lot from them, and honestly, it feels like home. Another thing I really like and enjoy a lot is technology. I can spend the whole day reading articles and post about geeky stuff (sometimes more time than I should). Also, I'm interested in programming, I like front and back end web development; right now I'm working as a freelancer. I like to propose solutions to problems, optimizing processes, information systems, software engineering, UNIX-like environments and systems administration. I like videogames too.
It's been a couple of years since I found out that I really liked two things in particular: writing and helping people through teaching them. Not only I enjoyed these two things, but writing gave me a mean of escape, a way to lower the pressure when I felt anxious, and teaching makes me feel that I'm contributing with the community, some kind of pay-back for the opportunities I've had and the knowledge I've acquired.
So lately I was thinking, why don't mix all these things that make me feel so passionate? So I decided to start writing about the new things I learn every day in order to help people overcome the difficulties I've had in the process, and also explain the things in the best way I can, so my posts may be suitable for a wider number of readers.
Most of my content probably will be tutorials about web development
(mainly JavaScript, HTML, CSS, ReactJS, etc...) And probably tips about tools to make your life easier.
I hope you liked this first post. If you want to know a little bit more about me, you can visit my personal portfolio where you can find more about what I do and my work, it's still under development, but it's almost complete.
