Hello Steemit community! My name is Jonathan and I am excited to be joining up today to hopefully become a meaningful contributor and share some of my experiences and passions with others.
To share a little bit about myself, I was born and raised in a small town in Connecticut away from all the hustle and bustle of city life. Things were simple where I grew up but my parents instilled in me the drive to pursue big things and to just take in experiences as they presented themselves. Because of this I have been fortunate to be well traveled and have had experienced a fair amount all over the world meeting new people and constantly learning along the way.
My professional background is that I am a CPA that has worked in public accounting, insurance and the banking industry which makes me prone to getting easily engulfed in anything financial related or tech savy. These are two key areas that drive innovation and change and I want to be able to see the change over the course of my life of things that make the world a better place for generations to come. My daughter (to my left) gives me that motivation to keep bettering myself and to try to make as big of an impact anywhere I can.
Outside of all things work related my biggest hobbies are my new found interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology as well as collecting old US currencies, traveling, music, sports, etc. similar to most (but maybe not the collecting old currency part). I am very much into history AND the future; Cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology excite me because I feel they are the way of the future and will create major advances and change the way things operate all over the world, while at the same time my passion for collecting old or obsolete US paper and coin currencies excite me because it makes me feel like I am preserving a piece of history every time I get my hands on something new or rare. Even something as small as finding an old wheat penny from the 40's in my spare change can put a smile on my face even though it's not as significant. It's important to remember where things came from or where you came from so that you don't take for granted the things you have or hope to achieve.
Anyway, that's all I have for now on me. I am still learning my way around Steemit but plan to add more as I learn to navigate the site. I plan to spend a great deal of time reading through crypto currency articles as I'm still only a few months into the crypto world as well.
