Hey hey Steemers! My name is Natalia.
I recently joined Steemit hoping to find a platform where I could write about the things that inspire me now
-
Yoga
-
Psychoanalysis
-
Traveling and hiking
-
Pair dancing (but honestly I’d rather prefer just to dance than to chat about it)
Probably the best way to introduce myself is to list a couple of quick facts about me. :)
1. I’m from Russia and I live in Czech Republic
I was born in the middle of nowhere in the very East of Russia (Soviet Union at that time) and I changed my life harshly twice. First time, when I moved to Siberia (5000 km from home) at the age of 15 to study at boarding school and university. And for the second time, when I moved to Czech Republic (which makes another 5000 km), because I suddenly decided that I should get a second degree abroad. And that leads us to the 2nd fact.
2. I’m getting my 3rd university degree now
Some people just can’t stop studying and I guess I’m one of them. Probably, this funny picture from one of my English grammar books describes me more than accurately. :)
I started with mechanics and mathematics. 5 years after graduation I suddenly decided it’s gonna be cool to learn information technology abroad. This second education really left me exhausted and devastated. And yet, here I am - the same year after graduation I started learning psychoanalysis. A bit sharp change of direction, right? (That’s what I’ve been told by most of my relatives and friends.)
The funny thing is that since my 13 I’ve been dreaming of being a psychologist, but I let others (and my own self-doubt) convince myself that "I don’t have qualities for that" / "psychology is not even a profession" / "technical jobs are better paid" and blah-blah.
I guess I just want to say: don’t give up your dream, even if everybody tells you it’s stupid or not good enough! And even if you already gave it up - it’s almost never too late to return to it again. So did I, and I’m happy!
3. I’ve been practicing yoga for more than 10 years
It started as an attempt to feel something “unusual” (I was kinda interested in altered states of consciousness at that time). But now yoga is so deep part of my life that I can’t imagine myself without it. It’s more than just a physical practice, it’s a way of living. I would even say (and I know that it sounds pompous) it’s the art of living!
As I realized, the right School and the right Teacher can change your life in the most unexpected and miraculous way! And I’m really happy and grateful to my destiny for finding my yoga school Yoga Siddhi. Even though I’m no longer living in Russia (where this school is based) I’m still connected to it and I use every possibility to learn and also to help developing it.
Looking forward to the opportunity to share my passion and experiences here on SteemIt!
And If you happen to read this post, please don’t hesitate to write a few words about yourself in comments!
