Hi everyone! I'm new to the community, and glad to be here. My name is Ash, but a lot of my friends call me Angel, so I use that as my "name" in art, writing, et cetera. I spend a lot of time reading, painting, homeschooling my wonderful daughter, and gaming recreationally. I am trying to teach myself to garden as well, but that is an uphill struggle for me. 😅 Luckily my orchids held their bloom for nearly 12 weeks this year! That's better than I've ever done before so I'm taking it as a win!
When it comes to art, I usually work in acrylics and a sort of abstract style. I'm quite possibly incapable of realism! I also dabble in wood burning, repurposing (usually into planters 😁), and mixed media using natural resources (sometimes bones or feathers found when out in the woods, driftwood, stones). I lost the majority of my work when I lost my mother's home, but am determined to build myself up again! One thing I have learned in life is to never give up no matter how hard the struggle or how deep the pain. It's a blessing and a curse, as many will learn when they continue to read my posts and join me on my journey.
Normally my writing is all poetry, spiritual ponderings (not particularly religious, just soul searching), and opinions and notes on my experiences and perspective. I eventually want to write a book about my life, although I hesitate because it's a lot to process and as much as I want to raise awareness about certain things I don't want to impose by causing emotional distress to my readers. It's an ongoing debate I have with myself--- is it better to try to prevent the reality for others by exposing my own struggles? Is it better to let others comfortably believe that these aren't growing issues in our human society? Who knows? Until I decide, it remains an internal conversation, with the rare exceptions of those I tell personally. Those who have seen the scars of my youth. Maybe some of you have perspectives to share with me that could help me make my choice?
Mostly, I am here because I want eo explore different social platforms and meet new people, make new friends, and share in the beauty of nature and art and life itself. I would love to share my art, my journey, with those who wish to be a part of it. I want to bring more humanity and empathy to an often inhumane and cold world, one interaction at a time 💖
Lastly, I would like to thank and
for the welcome and for getting me started in this new digital world I'm entering 😁💖 Much love and appreciation to you!!
