We grew up hearing the stories of the people around us. Hearing the stories of our ancestors. Hearing the bigger stories of our history. This is my story:
Once upon a time, (all great stories start this way, I thought I'd borrow it) a middle aged woman named Kristie found herself living on the great frontier of Western Massachusetts. Well, maybe not the great frontier as you might imagine it, but as far as living among people who are awake to the possibilities of these changing times, it is the frontier. She lives in an old house with her husband, two teenage daughters, two cats and a multitude of ideas she wants to share with the world.
The conundrum, which idea to share first? They all seem so important. Each unique in its own way.
There are the homeschooling ideas. Kristie has been homeschooling her two daughters for over 15 years. They are intelligent and inquizitive young women. So sharing these ideas about how to teach and coach young minds have merit. Ideas about the changing understanding of history and science couple with homeschooling ideas so well that all of these can be shared together. Hmm...
Then there are the ideas that stem from years of being a stay at home mom, wife and general homemaker. These include growing and preserving your own food, cleaning with products made from items commonly kept in the kitchen, cooking from scratch. Let's not forget the more obscure skills like lacto fermentation, soap making and basic foraging skills.
As a historic reenactor of the late 1500's, Kristie could share her ideas about the skills needed to live in the 1560's and how they can be used in today's world. If there are any reenactors on this site, they might find Kristie's skills in sewing, embroidery and other fiber arts interesting and useful to learn. Then her mind wanders to open fire cooking. This is a newer idea that she is actively learning and experimenting with right now.
There are so many more ideas; the list is daunting. She knows she has to start somewhere. An introductory story about herself is a good start. An even better start is an invitation to those who read this story to follow along on this blog. That's what she will do! Here is the invite:
You are invited to follow me, Kristie, as I not only share my ideas with you via this blog, but learn from you as well. Comments and dialog from other open minded people are welcomed. It can be very isolating out here on the intellectual frontier.
I look forward to sharing with you all what I have learned during my life so far. I will also share with you what I am learning about the Electric Universe, the grand solar minimum, cryptocurrencies, and the changing understanding of our common history on this planet.
Enjoy writing your story as I continue to write and share mine!
