Hey y'all my name is Kevin, I'm from the US and I am currently studying finance at a university in California.
I've known about cryptocurrencies, more specifically bitcoin, probably since 2012. I Just thought it was for buying drugs on the silk road and it was a fad that would pass so I pretty much ignored it. At this point I could kick myself for not buying bitcoin back when it was cheap.
So, about a month ago I started hearing about bitcoin and how the price was rising astronomically. I was surprised because I had dismissed it before. Anyway I was intrigued so I started looking into what the blockchain actually is and how bitcoin, and other apps built on the technology actually are changing the world.
The more I learn, the more I am astonished by how bitcoin, steemit, and other currencies are not being adopted by everyone. these technologies are revolutionary. They have the power to change everything about our world. With Steemit and similar programs we can get around the disgusting censorship found on websites like YouTube, Twitter, and Reddit. With just one program built on the blockchain we can have a space where people can speak their mind. A place where we can comment without having to worry that our comments will be deleted.
I could talk all day about these things but I realize I am preaching to the choir.
Everyone here is part of something huge. You guys are changing the world and I hope I can be a part of it.
