I'm going to keep this short and sweet because this is just meant to be an intro as I start looking to incorporate more thoughtful and/or insightful posts but in the meantime as I get situated you can always take a look at the articles I've already gone ahead and resteemed to pick my brain a bit!
Not sure about the rest of you but I just recently stumbled upon Steemit around a month or so ago after hearing about Ethereum and finally deciding to dive into this whole blockchain and cryptocurrency space. I was always the kid at school who loved playing sports but was just as fixated with computers and how they worked. After reading up on the basics of smart contracts, decentralized applications, and the space as a whole I was left with the same feeling of awe and wonder I had as a kid figuring out the ins and outs of MS-DOS, Windows, and later the internet, for the first time and understanding it's massive potential! Now don't get me wrong I'm no expert in computer science nor programming and I actually have my degree in business, but this is a space is just so fascinating to me and something I want to slowly become an expert in with the help of this community!
Communities like the one we're apart of today on Steemit are going to help push us towards a new utopia that I believe humanity can one day evolve into, one where the people, the 99% have control over more aspects of their lives through better accessibility to technology and knowledge. I know some people might find that a bit altruistic, but hey the flip side in my humble opinion is a lot less fun and a bit more dismal.
