Introducing Kismet Art (Kevin McLaughlin)
Hello Steemit, my name is Kevin McLaughlin. I am a visual artist and performer based in Minneapolis, MN. After spending years behind a lens capturing live performances and designing communications pieces for non-profits, I grew restless and needed to put my visual skills to use creating rather than documenting others’ art.

My work is an exploration of the possibilities of digital art. I love this medium—it offers a wonderfully flexible and fluid workflow with an infinite range of expression, allowing me to abuse and push the digital tools beyond their original purpose to create something beautiful and interesting with multiple layers that will stand the test of time.
Whether working in a painterly or pointedly digital style, I favor spare, minimal rendering that invites the viewer's eye to complete the picture. I also enjoy the idea of the ellipse as an infinity symbol— it's a simplified figure 8, really— and frequently use this shape as a sort of 'atomic unit' in my pattern-based work.

Many of my works are created on the premises of @Caffetto in Minneapolis, artistic hub of many talented artists such as Lars @Kommienezuspadt (thanks for introducing me to this site, Lars!), @VermillionFox, and @TarotbyFergus.
My work is online at the links below, and will be featured here in upcoming posts.
