So after reading many reddit post on crypto currency i came across a post about steemit. After reading it I quickly realized I didn't understand what the hell it was about but it seemed cool as a pair of eskimo balls and I wanted to be a part of it. After a full 48 hours as a member there's still lots I don't understand but a learning curve is expected with anything new and most importantly it's free! This being a social platform I was taught by a old smart man (Mr. Robert Byron) that there are three basic things people want to know when they meet you. Who are you? Why should I care? What can you do for me?
- Who Are you?
My name is K. Joaquin I've been an artist as long as I can remember. I have a love ,passion and appreciation for ALL arts. I was in special education classes all through grade school. Professionals said I had a learning disability but it was very unique and didn't fall into any exact category. When I got to middle school things didn't get better I was part of a new "bridge" program that "bridged" the gap between children with learning disabilities and children without. So basically me an 2 other students had to step out the class or do absolutely nothing wile the other kids did math, spelling, reading, ect,. As you could imagine this cause a tremendous amount of animosity between the "bridge kids" and the rest of the class. After a year of relentless teasing and name calling I begged my mom to home school me and while reading a newspaper she seen a small article about a new idea a man had for a charter school for trouble youth. The mans name was Mr. Robert Byron he had a beautiful philosophy of teaching children with learning disabilities and behavior problems in a way that pertains to them. He taught that everyone doesn't think the same and there are multiple ways to solve a problem. Me and many other throw away kids flourished under his way of teaching and gained confidence that never would have been bestowed upon us thanks to him. Unfortunately charter schools were quite new at the time and the school was closed after two years but by the time I enrolled back into public school I was no longer in special ed and graduated high school with a 3.0
2.Why should I care
What Mr. Robert Byron taught me was that anyone can learn from anyone. A Harvard grad can learn from a illiterate laborer so teach and help when you can and be open to learning from others and thats what Im here to do. Some of my articles may be completely useless to you but another may be life changing to you, if not for you maybe someone else. I know I have definitely already gotten some good info from this site and im barley scratching the surface. Also with the community factor of steemit I excited build and grow here. I am here for the loooooooooong hual.
- What can you do for me?
Being someone who has had to learn most things the hard way I can tell you a lot of what NOT to do. Also as a man who doesn't fit the " conventional lifestyle I have figured out a way to make a living or at least pay some bills by using talents you may not even know you had or at least didn't know someone would pay for them! Sounds kinky i know ; ) but its not I promise you!
