Hi Steemit!
I thought I'd come by and introduce myself as I just signed up today. I discovered this website a few days ago, by accident, really. I was on coinmarketcap looking through all of the cryptocurrencies, trying to figure out what purpose they serve, and discovered Steem. From there it lead me to Steemit. I'm very much a newbie when it comes to all of this stuff (cryptocurrencies, blockchains, Steem, etc.) but am eager to learn. In fact, I still don't quite understand Steemit, but I'm sure the longer I stick around the more I'll learn. This community seems pretty cool and I hope I'm able to connect with some of you (please feel free to follow and connect with me).
Some of my interests including reading, strength training, rock climbing, Brazilian jiu jitsu, entrepreneurship, technology from the future (like cryptocurrencies and blockchains), movies, travel, friends. You know, pretty regular stuff :)
I currently work completely online and in my spare time (haha) I am working on a side-project software as a service (Saas) app that I'm bootstrapping. It's a ton of work but I love it.
I'm also in the middle of trying to kickstart a writing habit, again. I've failed to write consistently for years, so Steemit seems like a good platform to share my writing from my blog. Hopefully over time I'll get better and more consistent. I'm currently writing this to you from Canada, on July 1st, Canada's 150th birthday! So Happy Canada Day to all my fellow Canadian steemians (is that what we're called?). I'm hoping that writing on Steemit will let me out of my shell a little bit, as well, since I'm quite a private person and an introvert to the core, especially when it comes to online interactions.
Thanks for reading! Now I must go celebrate Canada's birthday! But I'll be back soon :D
