Hello Everyone!
It is my first post here so I would like to introduce myself a bit...
My name is Tomasz Szatewicz, around 40 years old, I was born in Mragowo, small town in north-east part of Poland but these days I live and work in Inverness - the heart of Scottish Highlands. I am mainly a landscape and nature photographer but I like to shoot other subjects too - portraits, animals, macro, abstract works ...
If/when time allows I also compose and release electronic/ambient/experimental music under the moniker Subradial and few others Nitesky, electrees ...
I also record and collect various sounds (sounds of nature, cities, all sort of 'found sounds' etc...) that I often mix with my music...
My interest in photography began during primary school when I used to take photographs with analogue cameras and spent many hours processing films and prints in old fashioned darkrooms. I have gained a MA degree in Fine Arts and worked for years as a graphic designer but always felt photography was the medium that fascinates me the most.
This passion grew in me over the years and lead to a professional photography business under the name Land of Light Photography
International recognition, few awards in landscape photography competitions, great responses from fellow photographers and followers convinced me to focus entirely on photography and continue the path I have chosen...
I run individually tailored landscape photography workshops and photo tours across Scottish Highlands and Moray that help people improve their photo skills, learn about shooting with filters and also visit spectacular, often hidden and remote spots around Scotland. I do it all by myself and on a small scale but so far it works very well and I can do what I love - explore great outdoors and photograph spectacular landscapes under unique and ever-changing light and weather conditions.
Here on Steemit I will share stories and photographs from my workshops and photo tours across Scotland, tips, tricks and thoughts about photography in general, compositions, shooting various exposures, using filters and other gear so anyone who enjoy photography, nature, landscapes and Scotland should find something interesting and hopefully useful as well...
