Hi , it's great meeting you! My hubby's been a type 1 diabetic from the age of 7 so I know exactly what you're talking about the big bucks being made by the pharmaceutical companies! We have medical aid who each month cover the insulin costs in full (big money for the pharmas) but they will only cover costs for 2 boxes of test strips! We end up buying extra test strips otherwise he would be injecting blindly (breakfast, lunchtime, suppertime and bedtime) He also tests either mid morning or afternoon, so 6 times per day is ideal but costs us out of pocket despite paying for medical aid! But you know all about that, just had to get it off my chest🤨 Hubby's now 71 and is much healthier and more active than many of his peers, the only health scare was a mild heart attack 9 years ago but a triple bypass sorted that and he's been taking Ecotrin (coated Aspirin) ever since which the specialist told him also prevents certain types of cancers!
Enough health talk, I'd like to introduce you to an awesome Community I started called Silver Bloggers, for the young at heart mature Hiveans where you're sure to meet some great folk and where you'll find good support for your blogs. Do pop over and find out for yourself, look forward to seeing you there😉
