Ever since I was a child I would get lost in my imagination. Or, rather, my imagination and curiosity would get me bad grades and into trouble. In grade school, I would rather think-up wild inventions than do homework (I'm pretty sure I once invented a time machine). I would rather wander aimlessly through a park thinking about philosophy than socialize with peers (my favorite philosopher is Rene Descartes). Eventually, I realized that I had to be a responsible adult, which meant doing work, socializing with the world, and eventually starting a career. All the while, however, I have always plotted my escape back to my world of wonder and imagination. I am not going to ever, ever lose my dinosaur.
I have degrees in both law and philosophy. My current interests consist of, among others, psychology, sociology, economics, math, computer science, artificial intelligence, and space. I have no degrees in any of the latter topics, but I try not to let that hold me back from learning about them.
I will be posting about an infinite amount of topics here, and I hope to consume content about an an infinite amount of other topics. I hope to meet colleagues with similar interests, and maybe a few future friends. Please, feel free to send me a message.
Warm regards,
Michael Ortiz
