Hi, I'm Scarlett Vespa (Mrs V) and I wanted to say hi.
It's been kind of exciting but scary jumping into this world of and Cryptocurrency. I remember watching a TED talk from someone who spoke about how cryptocurrency will change everything, our online reputation will be so powerful it will hold our ability to get a bank loan or a job. I know right now lenders and future employers check your activity most of the time, but he was saying it will ALL be online - yes, your credit rating in fact. It means that business will change as we circumvent traditional means of doing business with financial institutions and the biggest thought that gave me a brain freeze, it will change advertising completely because people won't be doing traditional activities as you couple it with AI taking over your choices, which will be in fact controlled by what you want to see (or so we think - that's another conversation).
So as my world falls apart and I look around and gaze at the old and the new surrounding me, I wonder what to pick up first. What do I need now and what do I need to let go of as I look to be future proof in my work? Entrepreneurship grows like a new religion and I watch as people grasp to find the newest and best idea to disrupt and cut through this very noisy world - it has led me to feel quite overwhelmed a lot of the time.
I am a brand expert, I got here by being in film and TV for 8 years, then going into advertising as a director of TV ads and digital content. I was head of broadcast for CBA Bank (loved my time there - learnt about the real world and business), I then decided to follow my passion for personal development and do a pilot for a TV show that I took to the USA, LA and then MIPCOM Cannes to meet Warner Bros and other key people. I had a great response and I knew what had to be done but I was not ready. I then came back to find that I had lost everything on a bad business decision and had to start again, 2010 was my rebirth.
The universe at this stage had decided to also dry up all my directing work, which I was never without work. It was like the Gods said ‘oh you want to do what you love, then you need to go through this dark and difficult tunnel’, yep – the test was on. I used everything to understand the digital world, social media and who I was if I wasn't a director. I have always been into self-help since I was about 15 years old, studying Buddhism, Shamanism, learning about every type of healing modality and visiting practitioners to be the best version of myself. I learnt how to shoot my own videos, edit, build a website, design graphics and learnt how to be in front of camera confidently. As a director, it's always about making other people feel great and forgetting yourself, it was a difficult and strange learning to be an equal to someone I was interviewing, to allow myself to be seen. I remember being at school, I was about 13 and one of my school friends had got onto the back of a Kellogg packet (model) and I said out loud 'I'd like to be on the back of Kellogg packet', all my friends (well not all were friends it seems) said, 'You'll never be on the back of a Kellogg packet', I remembered being stunned. I thought to myself, “why can't I? What is wrong with me that I can't choose to do something I want to.” This moment was quite defining and since then I have firstly gone out trying to prove them wrong AND I have become an ambassador for inclusivity and gender equality. I believe empathy is the key to healing our world and I now bring that into the world I live in. Part of the work I do with personal branding, is getting people to recognise those defining moments that can actually be a catalyst for great success.
So yes, I then had people ask me to help them with their personal brand, their business brand and create everything they need to get out there in a unique and authentic way and so that is how my business started.
About 2 years ago I realised that women and men over 40 didn't have a voice in the media and online (mostly women), so I started an online platform www.mrsvsociety.com to showcase women and men over 40. I also produced in 2017 a day's event called the 'Mrs V Shift' to bring 30 panellists together to talk about relevant issues in an engaging and authentic way. I facilitated the day and it was transformational I have to say, every panel was a different theme, health, career, women's rights, communication, relationships, beauty - I believe we cannot separate the parts of our life, they are all interconnected, so own all the parts of you, even parts you don't like, you will get your power back (try it ).
Here I am now, doing my branding, wanting to change the world by creating more empathy and inclusivity through what I create for myself and clients, my events, workshops and creative projects.
So hi, great to meet you. I’m here to learn and be intuitively guided to find my way for myself and others. One thing I know for sure, is when the world is so full and so loud, you must let go and listen to the only voice that matters, which is your own. Connection will happen naturally when you share that. I hope to make a difference by sharing what I know that will be of value to others, by also sharing fun stuff I like to make, meet other like-minded people on Steemit and learn more to find out what the #@@@%%% is going on, yes keep calm and carry on. Thanks for reading.
