Hi, my name is Tristan and I first noticed steemit several months ago, reading some cryptocurrency related posts here and wondering a bit what it was all about.
am I doing this right?
As I've been journeying through learning about crypto (-currency first, now starting to dig into -graphy), I'd had some ideas about different guides I could write that the community might be interested in and would perhaps show some crypto(currency) love for.
But in examining many of the addresses listed for donations/tips - a common theme is they were for the most part pretty empty. Probably more to do with the prevalent feeling that information on the internet should be free rather than any perceived lack of quality in the content.
So I didn't want to go through a bunch of effort - not only for the content itself but also setting up hosting, potentially things like seo/domains/etc. - and begin contemplating dropping the idea entirely before I saw another article on steemit and decided to dig a little further.
Now my thoughts are this platform could provide an easier method for content consumers to contribute to posts they appreciate and save me a lot of headache at the same time.
My original idea was a collection of paper wallet audit/reviews. I will likely get to this shortly. A recent experience has led me to draft up a guide for a particular social media issue - and I might include others. Other topics I might delve into include; cryptocurrency mining (currently active), learning C++ (high interest to better understand the workings of the currencies I'm interested in) and hosting/server + O/S + hardware.
Thanks for reading my intro - sorry it doesn't have much in the way of identifiable information but am currently working on reducing that particular online surface. :)
