Hello fellow Steemers.
My name is Doron, I'm a 39-year-old man from Modiin, Israel.
Being 39 means that soon I'll have to start planning my mid-life crisis. I'm afraid this is going to be rather challenging because I'm really not into cars (let alone the big and expensive kind) and to make things even worse, I'm happily married +2 and the notion of awkwardly trying to re-live my youth sounds like a burden. I'll figure something out.
Speaking of awkward stuff and youth, I'm A.D.D. I have always been A.D.D, but I was not diagnosed until my mid 20's and growing up in the 80's and 90's meant that the surrounding and I were totally oblivious to the condition.
For example, back in 1984, when I was a 6-year-old kiddo, my mom and I attended my first Parent-Teacher conference. The teacher praised me for sleeping throughout her classes. Yes. That actually happened. "He is bored, but instead of being disruptive like other children, he goes to sleep". My mom was beaming with happiness.
So, I slept through primary school, middle school, and high school. The higher the class, the lower my average. Starting middle school, and throughout high school, the teachers were mean to me. Up until this day, I still have occasional nightmares about this. YAY!!
So yadda yadda yadda <Fades out with a cheap "pond ripple" visual effect, and fades into present day>
I'm almost 40 now, I have a B.S.c in Computer Science and Bioinformatics, I'm married, I have a 7yo boy and a 2.5yo girl, I have an interesting job which I enjoy and I take Ritalin almost every day.
What Interesting job? What do I do? Well, I have been into mobile device programming for the good part of the last 18 years and had the chance of doing things I enjoy. Here are a couple of examples (there are many more):
In the beginning of the millennia, I had the privilege of being among the first people in the world that worked with Microsoft's Stinger reference hardware (The first working prototype of what was later to become "Windows Mobile").
In 2008 I wrote the world's first-ever iPhone App that could broadcast high-quality live video from 1st/3G generation iPhones to the web. It made a lot of headlines as the 1st Gen and 3G iPhone devices that were available at the time did not have any native video recording capabilities at all.
Today I work on a Dual-Camera Band for Apple Watch that lets you instantly capture photo and video from the wrist. Cool, isn't it?
Well, that is my introduction to this amazing community.
Hope to read you later!
