Hola a todos en Hive! Siempre lista!

Espero que se encuentren muy bien, soy nueva en Hive y me acabo de unir a esta hermosa comunidad, realmente es un mundo totalmente nuevo para mí y eso asusta un poco (sobre todo porque la tecnología no es mi fuerte), pero estoy emocionada de poder integrarme en la colmena y poder formar parte de todo lo lindo que sucede acá.
Así que antes de todo, voy a contarles mi historia.

Mi nombre es Ornela Mauro, tengo 20 años, soy argentina, y actualmente estoy estudiando Ingeniería Ambiental, me encanta la vida en la naturaleza, las plantas, leer y hacer manualidades e inventos con materiales reciclados.

Es una locura, lo sé, y les contaré el cómo y porqué, pero primero debo iniciar con contarles mi vida más en general.

Nací y viví toda mi vida en Bariloche, en la Patagonia argentina, donde el frío y los paisajes deslumbrantes están por todas partes.
Convivo con mi familia, mis papás y mi hermano, además de Choco y Pluma, una perrita y una gata muy tranquilas.

Desde chiquita siempre fui alegre, hiperactiva y entusiasta para hacer cualquier cosa que se me pusiera adelante; participaba de cada deporte y actividad que encontraba y siempre con una sonrisa y muchas ganas de aprender y jugar.

Muy aplicada a los estudios y metas en mi vida, crecí con una rutina armada por mí con todas las actividades en las que estaba metida. Pasé por AFI, Tennis, Taekwondo y Hockey, hasta que, a los 10 años, llegó a la primaria un profe que nos enseñó el Bádminton. Amé el deporte.

Está lleno de buenos valores y con una dinámica muy interesante, el ambiente que se genera es hermoso y aunque sea muy individualista (ya que se juega de a uno o de a dos), la gente del club es una familia para mí. En los últimos anos empecé también a instruirme como árbitro de Bádminton, y junto con mi papa, participamos de torneos con esta tarea.

Al tiempo que comenzaba a descubrir el mundo del bádminton, otra actividad que se apareció en mi vida fue el escultismo. Le dedicaré una publicación aparte para contar qué es y todo lo que hay en este bellísimo movimiento, pero para esta presentación les contaré lo básico; empecé también a los 9/10 años, y me enteré de su existencia por mis amigos de la escuela primaria que iban ahí los sábados. Yo estaba muy emocionada por hacer algo nuevo, ya que no era un deporte más o una actividad cualquiera, sino que era algo mucho más loco, y de hecho es lo que me impulsa a estar escribiendo hoy estas líneas de presentación.

Ser scout es lo mejor que me pudo pasar en la vida, y creo que es el ambiente por excelencia para crecer y formarse de valores, aparte de conseguir amigos para toda la vida y una familia que te apoya en todo 💟

El movimiento scout es un espacio de aprendizaje no formal en el que la vida en la naturaleza, el intercambio con otros, y la vivencia constante de experiencias únicas es moneda corriente en cada día que hay de actividad.

Nosotros los scouts, entre muchas otras costumbres que tenemos, nos saludamos, al estar en una ronda o en un grupo de gente, diciendo "Buenas tardes, siempre listo!" y los demás responden lo mismo. Es por eso que en este escrito comencé saludándolos de esa forma, ya que espero también cruzarme con algún scout en esta comunidad bella de Hive, y así pueda responder de la misma manera.

Respecto del título de la publicación, el remar tu propia canoa es un simbolismo que refleja el hacer tu propio camino en la vida, y ser respondable de tus decisiones que llevan tu canoa a lo largo del río de la vida.

Hey everyone on Hive! Be prepared!

I hope you're all doing great, I'm new in Hive and I've just joined this beautiful community, it's truly a whole new world for me and it's a bit scary (especially because technology isn't my strong suit), but I'm excited to integrate into the hive and be part of all the wonderful things happening here.
So before anything else, I'm going to tell you my story.

My name is Ornela Mauro, I'm 20 years old, I'm argentine, and currently studying Environmental Engineering. I love life in nature, plants, reading, and doing crafts and inventions with recycled materials.

It's crazy, I know, and I'll tell you how and why, but first I have to start by telling you more about my life in general.

I was born and have lived all my life in Bariloche, in the argentine Patagonia, where the cold and stunning landscapes are everywhere. I live with my family, my parents, my brother, as well as Choco and Pluma, a very calm dog and cat.

Since I was little, I've always been cheerful, hyperactive, and enthusiastic to do anything that came my way; I participated in every sport and activity I found, always with a smile and a lot of willingness to learn and play.

Very dedicated to my studies and goals in life, I grew up with a routine I created with all the activities I was involved in. I went through AFI, Tennis, Taekwondo and Hockey, until, at the age of 10, a teacher introduced us to Badminton in primary school. I loved the sport.

It's full of good values and has a very interesting dynamic, the atmosphere it creates is beautiful, and although it's very individualistic (as it's played one-on-one or in pairs), the people at the club are like family to me. In recent years, I also started training as a Badminton judge, and together with my dad, we participate in tournaments with this role.

As I began to discover the world of badminton, another activity that appeared in my life was scouting. I'll dedicate a separate post to explain what it is and all that is involved in this beautiful movement, but for this introduction, I'll tell you the basics; I also started at the age of 9/10, and I found out about it from my friends at primary school who went there on Saturdays. I was very excited to do something new, as it wasn't just another sport or any activity, but something much crazier, and in fact, it's what drives me to be writing these introduction lines today.

Being a scout is the best thing that could have happened to me in life, and I believe it's the perfect environment to grow and develop values, aside from making friends for life and having a family that supports you in everything 💟

The scout movement is a space for informal learning where life in nature, interacting with others, and constantly experiencing unique experiences are common currency in every day of activity.

We scouts, among many other customs we have, greet each other, when in a circle or in a group of people, by saying "Good afternoon, Be prepared!" and others respond the same. That's why I started this writing by greeting you in that way, as I also hope to come across a scout in this beautiful Hive community, and so I can respond in the same way.

Regarding the title of the post, rowing your own canoe is a symbolism that reflects making your own path in life and being responsible for your decisions that guide your canoe along the river of life.
