Yes, the millennial generation has faced challenges of which older generations cannot relate.
Teenagers are faced with more peer pressure over sex, drugs, and alcohol, than ever before. Violence is at an all time high, appearing on social media, video games, movies and television. Many teenagers are spending most of their free time online on their phones texting, sexting, liking, scrolling, staring at a screen instead of interacting with real people. Kids are not learning the skills of communication and having real personal relationships. Self esteem of many kids is at risk living online, drama escalates and cyber bullying takes its' toll.
Older millennials face unique problems, too. Sure the twenty something millennial are more educated than any generation before, but along with that has come crushing student loan debt and unemployment. It seems to many of them that when it was their turn to realize the American Dream it vanished into thin air, the economy tanked, and the outlook is bleak. Psychology Today reports that millennials are showing the highest levels of clinical anxiety, stress and depression than any other generation at the same age.
Having said that negative stuff, please join me in helping to uplift all the members of our generation, because after all, We Are the Future!
