Hi Steemians! This will be my first time on posting here. I am Oscar Gabat from Pangasinan, Philippines. I have two siblings and I am the middle. I am raised by our grandmother since I was two years old because my mom had to work abroad for our needs. Anyway, my parents got separated a year before. I am now 23 years old and still am residing with my grandma together with my siblings and other relatives.
It’s been more than a week since I got approved with Steem it. It’s a little bit funny because I just only heard about this from a couple of friends in a party. When I got home that night, I became curious about it thus I searched for it in the internet. I found out that many people are engaged into this. They are sharing a lot of positive comments about Steem, thus, it drew my attention so much. At last! I can now express myself to you, guys, through my photographs.
I love adventures and travels. Maybe that’s how I live my life - treating each day as my last. As what my favorite motto says, “You only live once.” I’m fond of visiting beautiful tourist spots here in the Philippines especially in Boracay since I love beaches. Hmm, Pangasinan, my hometown, is also graced with beautiful beaches. I love taking pictures to all the places I have been.
Anyway, I am a community health nurse for two years here at my beloved town in Calasiao. My main function is to assist in the implementation of various health programs of the local government unit in accordance with the program goals and objectives of the Department of Health. My co-nurses and I usually go to villages or we term them “Barangays” to conduct home visit and give health teachings to our clients. I also participate on conducting immunization to infants, pre-school children and high school students. Our top priority clients are the poor families. Sometimes, such too much workload is tiresome; however, nothing is more special than seeing those families smiling despite of their situation.
Every day is a blessing to me because I am able to render my service for those who are unfortunate and in need. Now, I’m loving my profession because it feels great to make someone learn and help other people. I love the feeling of becoming an instrument for those people to obtain the health services they deserve. My profession made me realize that you can still live your to the fullest no matter what situation you are in.
Happiness is also a choice.
Follow me guys and I’ll follow you back. Keep on upvoting. Thank you :) #upvote #comment #resteem
