Well Hello There, Steemit World!
Trying to write an introduction for myself, but all I want to do is sing, "These are a few of my favorite things," with Julie Andrews. "Raindrops on Roses," yep, I run outside with the camera every time it rains and the wind is still enough not to blow the little drops right off....I live in Windy Welly, the windiest capital in the world, Wellington, New Zealand. I don't limit myself to roses, raindrops on anything will do, sundrops will do nicely, too.
"And whiskers on kittens," three of them to be exact, kittens, not whiskers, lots of whiskers on three cats. They are all terribly lazy cats.
Mary, Queen of the Savanna, or so she thinks.
Lyra, the cozy cat, she likes to snuggle up under the blankets.
And last, but not least, our baby, Poe, he is a sleep yoga master.
"Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens," now this is where I get lost lost. Sure, I love a good cup of tea, but woolen mittens are lost on me, I need my fingers, even if they are cold. You can't snap a photo with mittens on, let alone pick up a sea shell, or wrangle a chicken, but the song was a good device while it lasted. On to chicken wrangling. Chickens, I have eight of them. They take a lot of wrangling. I won't post pictures of all 8, at least not here, right now. Henny Penny, Dotty, Hillary, Glen, Giraffe, Poopy Chicken, and Rey (I had help naming them from a 10 year old, an 11 year old, and a 13 year old) are all rescue chickens from a free range egg farm north of here. Golden Head was our friend's chicken that now lives here. They are truly eight of my favorite things, and every single one of their delicious eggs. Things seems like the wrong word, they are eight of my favorite beings.
I like to make things, lots and lots of things, art things, garden things, cooking things, kid things, chicken things, weird things. Here is one of my latest arty-gardeny-chickeny-sculpture things....
Happy to be on Steemit and share a little of my world with you and to see all of the wonderful and exciting adventures people are having all over the world.
