Allow me to introduce myself...
First Of all, my name is Jon and I'm a career firefighter from northern California. Some things I enjoy are riding motorcycles (I have a 2009 Kawasaki zx10r), reading, spending time with my fiance, and believe it or not, I enjoy working.
So what brings me here?
I first learned about this community because I noticed all the blockchain hype that seems to be going around and I wanted to learn more about it. As I got deeper in to my research, I saw a lot of posts coming from steemit and eventually found that steemit works by using blockchain technology.
Now you may ask why I am interested in blockchain. Well as much as I would love to make a boatload of money investing in things like bitcoin, the truth is that I am more interested in technology, especially the kind that has the ability to change the world, and blockchain seems to be heading down that path.
So what's with the username?
Well, for those that don't know, panspermia is the idea that the earth was, in a sense, seeded millions of years ago by either...
Lithopanspermia/ballistic panspermia - impact-expelled rocks from a planet's surface serve as transfer vehicles for spreading biological material
Or
Directed panspermia - the intentional spreading of the seeds of life to other planets by an advanced extraterrestrial civilization
[http://www.panspermia-theory.com]
But what does that have to do with steemit?
Basically, I have a theory that connects directed panspermia to the development of life and technology as we know it today. The whole idea of me creating this account was to share my theory in a series of fictional short stories that will include factual information to support my theory. I'm hoping these will be fun for me to write as well as fun for you to read.
I also plan on being involved with other posts and members in the community. I look forward to learning some new things and hearing other people's stories. I am still curious in learning more about blockchain technologies as well and this seems like the right place for that.
So when do we get to start reading these stories?
Honestly, I have no idea. I am currently writing all this from my cell phone as I am in southern California fighting some of the wildfires. My goal is that once I am back home I'll be able to start writing and posting a new story every week or so. Also, each story will build off the last one, creating a series that can be read almost like a book.
Is that everything?
Yeah, pretty much at this point. Please cut me some slack as I learn to use steemit, I'm not even sure I'm posting this introduction correctly. I will learn as time goes on though and hopefully contribute to the already thriving community.
If you have any questions for me or any feedback for this post and my future writings, please do not hesitate to comment, critical comments are also more then welcome.
Until next time, thank you for accepting me in to this community and I look forward to what the future has in store for all of us.
