My name is Olatunde Adu. Actually, my parents fell in love with the name Tunde so much that they had to name me Tunde twice! They gave me Olatunde which means wealth has come! They also named me Babatunde which means father has returned. My grandfather(Josiah) had died the year before I was born and so they believed he reincarnated. I don’t believe in reincarnation though but I bear the name. I am from Ikere Ekiti, a town in Ekiti State, Nigeria. I am from the Adu family which also birthed the British Nigerian artiste SADE. Actually we are cousins but we have neither met nor communicated. Her dad (Uncle Bisi Adu) was the older one to my Dad (Rufus Adu). My Father is the current head of the Adu family. She doesn't even know me...hmmm well so many of the grandchildren of the great Josiah Adu clan have never even met. I met my brother for the first time when I was 21yrs. No! You wouldn't blame me. He left for the UK when he was 7yrs, I was born seven years later. Poor me!
I love music, composed my first song when I was 6yrs. Though the song had no meaning but it had a rhythm. I still remember the song and I laugh every time I remember. I am gifted in a lot of areas. I already told you about music. I play some piano too. I am a writer. I have written one book (I mean the hard copy) titled Not My Fault! The book focuses on people who exonerated themselves while blaming other people for their problems. It actually centers on the man at the pool of Bethesda in John chapter 5 who had been there for 38yrs waiting for the turning of the water at a certain time by an angel. He had waited for 38yrs without being healed and when Jesus saw him, he asked him a simple question “do you want to be healed?” His answer was “I have no one...!” he didn’t answer the question he was asked, rather he gave excuses for his failures. I also wrote other books which are ebooks.
I got married 2 years ago. I have a cute 3 months old baby boy who I love very dearly. Some days I close very early from work to play with my boy. Whenever I appear, he is all smiles. It’s a great bond we are building, I wish his growth could be fast so we could spend a lot of father/son time together. My son went 10 days without pooing and it initially bordered us but because he is on exclusive breastfeeding, we were told it was totally normal. No sooner than we returned from the hospital than he pooed…it was an experience we will not forget not anytime soon. I will be sharing more stories from my boy’s growth later.
I studied anatomy at the university but I am more into media now. I have a weekly radio program where I tell young people about legitimate businesses they can do to make money. I am currently introducing my listeners to Steemit and many of them are in the community already. They are excited about the steemit community and we hope to do great things here.
I believe everyone has a chance to be better than their current state. I believe in leaving people better than I met them. I believe this world can be a better place if we all can do our little in our little sphere to make the world a better place. Nobody is expected to do everything, we can only do our small bits know that little drops of water makes an ocean. I work hard to see how I can be of help to my neighbor. I believe in the investment in people which is the ultimate investment. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.
