Hello dear people!
I am Pieter. I already wrote somewhere else about my first impressions on Steemit, what I think is so great about it and how I think it will change the world, so I won't bore you with that again.
I am a philosopher, qi gong teacher, organizational trainer, partner/parent and psychedelic evangelist (to which I will get back soon enough). I will try to show you the things about myself that I think are most interesting. I've lived in and around Amsterdam for almost all my life - for those planning to visit, I already posted an overview of things to see and do. My family and I (my gorgeous girlfriend and our even more gorgeous 2,5 year old daughter) are, however, moving away from Amsterdam soon. We've bought a campervan and are going to explore a little bit, first aiming for Portugal. We are ready for a more sunny and rural life, filled with fresh fruits and beautiful sunsets.
I have a degree in social and political philosophy, which partly inspired my search for alternative ways to organize society. I think Bitcoin/Altcoin/Blockchain-technology can really facilitate a revolution and are a giant step in the right direction, where freedom and transparancy reign. I bought my first Bitcoin quite late in the game (just over 2 years ago), but am still happy to be part of this movement that will change the world. Seeing how it spreads around, how the blockchain grows into many different shapes and forms that can help humanity and the world is just pure joy.
Most of my paid jobs are helping others to experience more joy in their life. Either through teaching them the Chinese art of Qi Gong, of which I have been a practitioner for about 10 years, or through training organizations in how to work in a joyful way, learning the habits and patterns needed for people to feel empowered within the organization. I love being my own boss and helping others to access their inner joy.
In my 35 years on this planet I've been through a rough childhood. For the first two decades of my life, I was living mostly in fear and it is only through serious work on myself that I was able to release some of these old emotional trauma's. Psychedelics for me were a big help. Here you see me accepting a strong cup of ayahuasca (legal because in a religious setting in the Netherlands):
I've been working with psychedelics for about 12 years now and am now regularly assisting during (legal) ceremonies here in the Netherlands, assisting others to go through these experiences in such a way that they learn to open their hearts to, first and foremost, themselves, their loved ones and all people they will henceforth encounter.
I've also co-founded a non-profit organization here in the Netherlands called the OPEN Foundation, which aims to further scientific research into the risks and benefits of psychedelics and into the best ways they can be utilized for healing and personal development. Being involved with this organization for the past 9 years has been inspiring and very educational. I've seen how social change can come about through hard work and dedication to a cause, and I've learned lots about myself, the human brain/consciousness, psychedelics. If you'd like to know more about this subject, please tell me in the comments, I've got a lot to share.
I'm truly delighted to be here and hope to read some of your posts soon.
Come on in, wang!
