This is me
Hello everyone. I'm new to the platform. I'm 28 years old and I'm from Brisbane, Australia. I'm a chef professionally but I truly enjoy programming and IT in general.
I've written a bot for Anarchy Online (an old mmorpg) in c#, a bot for Eve Online in LavishScript (somewhere between c++ and php I guess), and a decent sized bot for Screeps (a game all about scripting) in Javascript. I wrote a chatbot for Anarchy Online in PHP. I've worked in python even done a little bit of assembly (had to learn to reverse engineer Anarchy Online).
I briefly worked in UE4 on a project I hoped would become a RTS/FPS in the vein of Command and Conquer: Renegade for VR.
I've got a couple of rigs that I do folding on, currently I contribute to Asteroids@Home, World Community Grid, Universe@Home and Milkyway@Home.
While I've been folding for years I recently came across GridCoin and while investigating that I came across Steem and saw Splinterlands and that inspired me to try and create something with the same underlying premise of real value to your virtual possessions.
I run unraid on an old server board with 2 cpus and 64 gig of ram so I'm currently working on installing hived-exchange to aid in my development woes and hopefully strengthen the overall HIVE network.
I'm still rather new to games design overall so if anyone had any suggestions for a game that would leverage HIVE well I'd love to hear suggestions. At the moment I'm just going to work on a simple scissors paper rock type card game and then extend it from there.
