Hello Everyone! I've been roaming around steemit for quite some time and I have made some bad mistakes, like not introducing myself the proper way. So I'm doing it again!
For the past two years of my life, I've been an active freelance writer and for some insane reason, I only found out about steemit this year! I was immediately seduced by the beautiful stories about this platform and decided to take the bulls by the horn and learn from the process.
I'm super excited to be here and I want to seal our date by telling you 7 crazy things about me.
I have never been on an aeroplane!
I'm 19 years old and from the country Nigeria. I have spent all my life within the confines of the country, heck! within two states ,pursuing education. The cost of living in my country is very high so you don't get on a plane unless it's absolutely necessary or if you can afford it. So far, I don't meet the criteria. I would love to travel the world and write about new places and people but till then...
I love Yoga.
I started practicing yoga 8 months ago and it's been a rewarding journey all along. It's not as common as squats over here and I'm still searching for local yoga classes to be a part of. So if you're Nigerian and happen to know one you can refer me to, I'd be more than grateful.
I Enjoy Spanish Music.
Do I have any idea what they're saying? No! But do I enjoy it regardless and pretend I'm a Latina Girl swinging my hips and chanting "Bidi bidi bom bom" alongside Selena? Absolutely!
I'm Learning to speak Italian.
It all started on a cold December morning. I stumbled upon a book in my house titled The broker by John Grisham. As usual, it was an amazing book with a great plot. This book was centred in the city of Bologna in Italy. Boy, I became obsessed with this beautiful country and it's many historical artifacts. I started to read up on it and decided that one day, I was gonna travel there. What better way to prepare for this experience than to start acquainting myself with the language? I'm taking baby steps but I'm pleased to announce that I am 19% fluent in Italian. Drumroll please...
5.Country Music is Everything!
I grew up listening to the voice of Don Williams playing on my father's radio. I learned to appreciate country music better than any other genre and it's safe to say that I'm obsessed with it. By the way, Kacey Musgraves' new album "Golden Hour" is everything and more.
Pageant Queen Or Not?
As a little girl, it was my biggest dream to become a pageant queen. Damn, those Colombians and Venezuelans set the bar really high! I would practice my catwalk around our sitting room and flash a smile to my very invisible audience. Well, it took me two broken heels and a sprained ankle to accept that (in Kacey's voice)"I ain't pageant material". I'm content with just being a queen. No, thank you. You can keep the pageant
Bags!Bags!Bags!
A woman can never have too many bags. Looking at pictures of bags on instagram and online stores is my special type of pornography . There's a bag for every occasion, every season, every outfit and every damn day. I know a lot of people obsess over shoes but let's be honest, you can hide your feet!in wide palazzos, floor-length dresses and under the table. But your bag? Ladies it is a badge of honor! Carry it with pride!
That's all about me. For now. This is the start of something beautiful and I'm glad I'm able to share this with you.
