When he opened his eyes, he saw the sunlight dancing among the leaves as the wind sang through the trees. As he arose, he noticed a pair of swallows weaving in and out among the branches occasionally coming out to circle the tree once or twice before retreating into the secrecy of their bliss.
As his eyes adjusted to the light, he could see the mountains that rose far beyond the boundaries of the garden over which he ruled. He noted that every tree, bush, vine and blade of grass was in place just as they were when he fell asleep Yet something was different. Something seemed to be missing and yet everything was all right wait! There was something new in the air. He knew he had never smelt it before, but he could have sworn that he knew its source all along. He looked about him to see what it was that he had sensed.
She seemed to have appeared from nowhere. But when he saw her, all his questions were answered. He knew exactly where she had come from. Touching her face, he looked down at himself and put his hand where his rib used to be. As she touched his face, he felt himself completed. As he took her into his embrace it was as if every ounce of his being reached out to clasp her and take her as his own. Woman he whispered into her ear. And he knew her. And they were one.
