I’m not a homesteader. I never want to farm or ranch. I have no intention of living an enforced rough or difficult life in order to survive with nature. I only want to be healthy and strong as I continue to get older… That and not be in a position to look out our bathroom window and see the neighbor lady in her nightie in her kitchen. True story! After Doug got a job with an internet commute that is where Dearest Hubby and I started when we began looking for our dream house.
The description in the ad: MILLENIUM READY! Luxury custom home - totally sef-contained including its own hydroelectric power plant. Numerous skylights, bay, garden & leaded windows, 2000 ft waterfront on over 23 secluded acres.
I’m Jessi. Some of this is my story but Doug has enough to say that you’ll see a post from him every now and again. In my past I had a shortened stay at university with a focus towards engineering and Doug has degrees in Electrical Engineering and the Computer Sciences and has spent time in the Navy as a Submarine Officer (Whoo Hoo! Love a man in uniform!)
Now we have everything we asked for plus a little extra:
- Annual to-do projects?
- Emergency Challenges?
- Still get to relax at night with all the modern luxuries?
Well... Maybe we could do without the emergency challenges
This place has a few interesting stories and I’ve got to tell you that contrary to all reports (anyone else pick up on this?) Google doesn’t have all the "how-to" answers.
