Ring of Peace is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to promoting peace through communication and education. Steemit is a great platform for us to share our message. We aim to promote peace on every level: individual, domestic, local, national and global.
WHAT DO WE DO?
We organise a range of fun, creative and inspiring activities for people of all walks of life to participate in. Each of these activities encourages people to communicate freely with each other and to share positivity, friendship and peace.
THE RING
The Ring is an annual event that we hold on the UN International Day of Peace, September 21. We host an open, global competition to select a simple message of peace. That message is then passed by phone call / video chat from one Messenger to another, country to country, until it forms a ring around the globe. It inspires communication and creates a worldwide chain of people of all professions, ages, nationalities and ethnicities. Anyone can participate.
THE 2017 RING
This year we had educators and students delivering messages of Peace from 600 schools in 40 countries including: Afghanistan, Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, Egypt, France, Germany, India, Italy, Jordan, Kenya, Mexico, Namibia, New Zealand, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Paraguay, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, The Republic of Ireland, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, USA and Vietnam.
