How are you all doing? I'm a 27 year old who, after growing up in Detroit, Michigan has recently moved to the rural, southern part of the US to escape the crowds and the cold (the two largest causes of anxiety for me). I'm pretty heavy tech-optimist and while I was aware of cryptos and casually monitored them from the beginning, with the move and everything I was completely oblivious to the explosion that has happened this last year. It has been super exciting catching back up!
While I will most likely just lurk and occasionally comment, I do have an idea for content I might be able to contribute. Between growing up reading sci fi and all the exponential growth that has been happening in tech, I've always wanted to take the time out to write my hypothetical ideas for drastic ways society could change in the near future. For instance:
First , consider how close we are to autonomous vehicles with affordable electric power.
Next, on the one hand we have a growing number of telecommute jobs, and on the other as automation continues to increase those wishing to continue doing manual labor will have to be willing to "go where the money is"/travel to whatever jobs still require human power.
Now, combine the two. Could we be on the verge of a large number of people returning to a nomadic lifestyle? Trading in their apartments for RVs? I know this specific scenario probably won't happen, but its plausible and it'd be fun to write down all my ideas for different ways all these nomads could shake things up.
I previously thought about making a blog to do it, but didn't think I would be able to gather enough commenters for it to be worthwhile. And that's the important part - simply writing my ideas wouldn't be the fun part. Having other people share their ideas /build upon what I posted plus getting my brain whirring on some other game changer to write about - now that would be fun!
I know it would never get a large enough attention to make any money off of, but that's not important. I think I might be able to slowly build a small group that would be interested in it here.
And if not, oh well! I'll still be around lurking and commenting on the better writers' posts!
