Hello everyone! I just got my Seemit account approved last weekend so here’s my first post to introduce my self…
My name is Ross and I’m from Manchester in the United Kingdom. I have just finished my Masters in Architecture @ The University of Manchester. My Architecture work is quite specialised. My focus is on data-driven, bottom-up approaches incorporating transdisciplinary skills to solve complex problems using computational design to test for optimum solutions.
One of my projects involved creating an adaptive system that reacts to Twitter data. The project involved multiple Twitter experiments and tests. One of the tasks within this project was to prove that emergent behaviors could be viewed via Twitter data. To do this I “kind of” hacked Twitter and collected every tweet sent in Manchester over a 2-week period and compared it to the entry data of a club in Manchester. Through various flitters I proved that there was a correlation between people talking about the club on Twitter and entry data. Following this I created a parametric building system that could adapt to the needs of the citizens by analysing Twitter data.
As well as having a keen interest in Architecture I am mad on sports! I used to swim at a national level, my pinnacle moment was competing at the Beijing Olympic Trails for the UK in 2008. Now having given up swimming at a competitive level you can often find me on the golf course or playing football for my local team.
I have always had an interest in the stock market and have been trading for the past couple of years. More recently my attentions turned to cryptocurrency, Ethereum has been a favourite of mine. I came across Steemit last week and quite quickly jumped on the Steem train. Reading various articles and videos particularly from only cemented my thoughts about getting involved in Steemit. I think it’s a fantastic idea and look forward to what’s to come.
I am brand new to Steemit so still working my way around.
This is me:
