Hello and 'Selamat Datang' ('Welcome' in Malay) to my #introduceyourself post
Checking steemit out due to cousin Omon's () msg in our whatsapp group. Since I already have my private journal somewhere else, I guess I will blog anything that is non-private here then. From Retail IT, my work related subjects, to my fitness journey, definitely on my diving lesson journey and hopefully some cake decorating post & travel-logs too.
So, here's the short summary of Sandra Louis (ice-broken? hehehe) Here's a picture of me while attending a conference in Waldorf, Germany in September 2015:
I am a sino-kadazan-dusun mixed race, which is not the same as Malay. My mother is Chinese while my father is from the indigenous tribe in Sabah, called Kadazan / Dusun.
I grew up in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah (North Borneo).
I moved to Kuala Lumpur to further my studies in 1993 and have never left this city since then!
Professionally, I started off as a Linux Programmer and worked my way up to Project Management.
Since 2002, I have been in Retail Industry and it has become part of me. I guess I am a retailer first, IT second & cake designer third!
I am proud to work in the biggest local retail chain in Malaysia as their current IT General Manager.
I love programming, I am passionate about Technology in Retail, I crave traveling to blow off some steam and I get to expand my creativity in my cake decorating. To stay active this year, I plan to go for a lot more trips to get my dosage of 'Vitamin Sea', do a bit of dancing and if my health permits, add some exercise time into my fun timetable.
More pictures (to prove that I am definitely NOT a bot!)
With our kids in Online Division during the launch of e-commerce platform, August 2017:
My lil family (I was still chubby then... Christmas 2012)
My last travel trip abroad (February 2017, Manila) - group picture with the beautiful Taal Volcano behind us.
My last dose of Vitamin Sea (Redang Island, April 2017) - took family picture before leaving the island
My biggest personal achievement is to overcome my aquaphobia within 6 weeks. There is no way that I could do it on my own so the credit goes to my biggest supporter & partner in crime... This is the picture taken moments before going for my first ever scuba discovery session, and it was also on my birthday, 10 July 2016!
Here's the most challenging cake that I have done. Beloved sister's wedding reception.
So, that's basically me in a nut-shell-ice-broken over in Steemit! pun intended hehehe
Here's my Steemit #introduceyourself picture. I miss doing Muay Thai but 6 months ago, I hurt myself (tennis elbow) so, I guess for now, let's do some keyboard punches over Steemit! So, hope all those who have read this post would support this Steemit Virgin to get a good learning experience in Steemit!
