oh.. hello!
I know you came here to get a great profile and cover picture for Steemit, but I might as well say hello and make this my introduce yourself post. Two sentences! Then you get your picture. Promise.
I write about articles, books or random thoughts, and would love to discuss them with you. If you like to get inspired, learn about yourself and others, and just have a blast and get better at this game we call life, go click the follow button!
Ok, now to the images. You see, Unsplash is an awesome site. Just amazing photos, for free. You don't even need to quote the source. We'll see how to crop the picture without using any desktop software or downloading anything. So let's do this!
1. Go to Unsplash.com
2. Find an amazing photo that inspires you. And click on it!
3. Right click on the picture and click "Inspect element" (or similar, depending on your browser.
4. Copy the image link that should appear on the line on top of the selected one. It should be something like this:
https://images.unsplash.com/photo-1497829352618-
8528e15d7ce7dpr=1&auto=format&fit=crop&w=1500&h=1000&q=80&cs=tinysrgb&crop=
5. Notice that w=1500&h=1000 part? Change it to the height and width you want to use.
6. Paste the address on your browser to see the cropped image. For a Steemit header I found that h=400works well but play around a bit. For an avatar, w=200&h=200 is perfect.
7. Whenever you're happy, go to your profile's settings and change the avatar and header URL to the one you chose. Update and voilà!
Of course, you can also use them in your posts!
Go make something awesome!
