If talking to yourself makes you crazy, then I am certifiably insane. I've been converselfing for longer than I can remember at this point. It was once purely for entertainment purposes, and then it became about exercising the imagination I felt was being stolen from me by the many distractions of life in the modern era. But lately, my discussions with myself have been aimed towards challenging the many opinions and ideals I have adopted over the years of my life.
I have observed that a great many of us have opinions we love to share, but that far too many of them are ones we have learned rather than earned. The last thing I want is to be another voice among many, propagating ideologies, beliefs and opinions that I inherited from elsewhere, or that were programmed into my mind subliminally without my knowledge. I do not want to live my life, regurgitating fact and figures, thoughts and feelings, that were borne in the mind of another and who I blindly place my trust in.
Through debating my self, and scrutinising any opinions that have taken hold of my mind, I aim to better understand my understandings, and to ensure that all my beliefs are the product of critical and unbiased deliberation.
To achieve this, I have created this blog, , with the intent of analysing the most controversial opinions in an honest and diligent fashion. Every day, I shall choose a topic, and write a post in favour of it, and one in opposition to it. I will leave my conclusive opinion out of it, and simply argue both sides as honestly as I am able to. My hopes are not only to enrich my own understanding of the world, of myself, and of other people, but also to invite any readers to dive deeper into their own minds and question all that they've come to take for granted.
If challenging your own opinions, or simply understanding the thought process of others who may disagree with you is something that interests you, then I invite you to follow and look out for my daily posts.
