Hello Steemit!
This is not really an introduction of me, so much, as an introduction to the project I'm working on. I am a small indie game developer, currently working on a video game called SteemQuest, which will feature Steem Dollars as the in-game currency.
What is SteemQuest?
The basic premise is this: The SteemQuest world is a fully immersive 3D environment featuring hills, lakes, trees and buildings. Your character will explore this environment from a 3rd person perspective and can run, jump, climb and swim to traverse the terrain.
What is the objective?
As you explore you will find coins. Some will be obvious and out in the open. Others will be harder to find, hidden behind rocks, inside buildings, under water, etc. And the reason for collecting the coins: They will actually be worth Steem Dollars.
How will this work?
You see, to enter the SteemQuest world you will need to pay a small amount of Steem Dollars. 1% of this will be taken to fund the development of the game, but the remaining 99% of it will be split up and distributed throughout the game world.
How do I play?
Your payment will give you a certain amount of energy which will enable you to move around. As you move, you use up this energy. Some actions, for example jumping or climbing will use up more energy.
Other players payments will have also been distributed throughout the world, so the aim of the game is to try and skilfully traverse the terrain to collect more coins than you paid to enter the world. Whatever you have collected by the time your energy runs out will be instantly paid back to your Steem wallet.
What will I need?
The initial target platforms will be Windows, Mac and Linux, with a possible mobile release coming later.
Development
Development has already begun, and progress will be documented through a series of dev diaries. These will give you an insight into the development process, and the current state of the project.
