Mission

This purpose of this account is to support the creation of poetry on the STEEM blockchain. It was created specifically as the ambassador for the Steem Schools project (poetry division) which is an ambitious long term project aiming to create a top 10 witness which will use the vast majority of its SP rewards to create both offline and online schools in every country around the world. These schools will educate in every facet of life, not just about the STEEM blockchain or cryptocurrency. We want to onboard 100 million new users onto Steemit and to leverage the STEEM blockchain to help provide relief to global poverty situations. Charity is fine, but it is not a permanent solution. The only permanent solution is education - real education, not propaganda-based mechanical curricula, but actual self-knowledge. Self empowerment begins with taking responsibility for each aspect of one's existence and changing one's approach to life to one more conducive to achievement on massive levels. Now let us more from the more broad to the more specific.

Benefits of poetry
on the STEEM blockchain

Poetry is a universal cultural urge. There is no society on this planet that has not discovered and practiced it, whether in oral or written form, or both. It is a priceless contribution to the annals of humanity, preserving our thoughts, ideals, feelings, beliefs, and lifestyles in a potent form. During our present phase of rapid technological, cultural, and philosophical advancements, it is vital to record poetic accounts that provide a diversity of perspectives on these volatile changes.

Poetry is the fruit of mind, a distillation of one's being into the closest semantic approximations. Its value grows with time rather than diminishing. By engraining our poetic writings into the STEEM blockchain, we can ensure it is digitally backed up in a decentralized manner untouchable by any sort of manipulation or censorship.

Context

This account was created in the midst of the project that signaled the genesis of the Steem Schools poetry division, the 100 Days of Poetry Challenge organized by Hive account@d-pend. The purpose of this account is to have a collective place to showcase the daily winners of the challenge from Week 2 onward, as well as showcase collaborations, make announcements about special events, and other actions determined by the Steem schools poetry community.

Involvement

Anyone interested in getting involved in this project should join our discord server and make a brief introduction. You can and attend our daily poetry class sessions at 6 to 8 PM GMT, contact Hive account@d-pend#5693 directly, make a donation of STEEM or SBD to this account (currently they are used towards the 1500+ SBD prize pool of the 100 day poetry challenge if nothing else is specified in memo) support the members of the Steem school with feedback on their pieces, come share your poetry during the last half-hour of our class, offer to lead a workshop or poetry slam event, and many more! Your ability to get involved is only limited by the extent of your initiative & imagination. All are welcome who want to join in supporting poetry creation on the STEEM blockchain!
