Greetings steemit!
I am coming from Serbia, small country in European Western Balkans.
I am PhD student of Astrophysics.
As Astronomy is full of beautiful things I feel obligated to share at least one with you.
Picture below is bubble supernova remnant called: SNR 0509-67.5
People usually asks me how and why did I chose to study astrophysics. Well, answer to that question is not simple but I think that I need to thank my uncle for that. As he inspired me to think critically and closely observe natural phenomena while I was a kid, and also took me out to watch solar and lunar eclipses, besides that two critical things happened in my childhood, we observed passing of Hale-Bopp comet and first experience of watching different planets (Mars and Venus) through relatively big telescope. After these events, I stride with confidence on a scientific path. And hopefully one day I will leave our planet and reach the stars and become an astronaut (or svemirac which means spaceman in Serbian language).
Recently I have found time-lapse of Hale-Bopp comet, and I am still delighted, so I will share the link with you.
Apart from astrophysics I am practicing Japanese defensive martial art Aikido (合気道 ) which can be roughly translated as "the way of harmonious energy". As an Aikido instructor I must say that for the last 10 years it has drastically changed my life and my views on the world and value systems. I will write few articles about it and try to light the spark of interest in you, as it is marvelous thing.
I really hope that you, readers, will enjoy my articles as much as I enjoy writing them. Since every time I write about something lots of memories and "emotions" come out and you appreciate once again the life you have and all the choices you made to live up to that moment in the chair in front of the screen.
As music makes big and important part of my life I would like to end this introduction with one beautiful composition.
Cheers,
V.V.
